The 2007 race is history! Thanks for making our event a success and see you in 2008!

The 5th Annual Answer to Cancer Run is the flagship event for the Answer to Cancer (A2C) Foundation. Two other runs held in San Francisco, California and Mahwah, New Jersey are part of the A2C family of fundraisers.

Since its inception, the Answer to Cancer Foundation has benefited organizations, associations and facilities that educate, treat, research and promote awareness for hepatitis B and liver cancer. The Answer to Cancer Run is the Foundation's flagship event. A 5K event held in McMinnville, Oregon, this event attracts a mix of competitive and recreational runners, as well as walkers. The unique course is centered in the heart of the Willamette Valley and circles farm lands and the Evergreen Aviation Museum, home of the Spruce Goose airplane. The grounds include both dirt/gravel and paved roadways.

This year, the funds raised from the Answer to Cancer run will benefit the following organizations: The Asian Liver Center at Stanford University's Jade Ribbon Campaign, the only non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness for hepatitis B and liver cancer in Asian and Pacific Islander (API) communities; MD Anderson Cancer Institute, one of the world's leading research and treatment centers for gastrointestinal illness and cancers, including those that affect the liver; Hepatitis B Foundation, which provides outreach, assistance and education for Hepatitis B patients and families; and the Willamette Valley Cancer Care Foundation which provides local cancer care, treatment options and support to patients in Oregon's Willamette Valley. The Foundation's mission is to foster hope through the support of cancer patients, education and prevention. We make a difference in the lives of local cancer patients.

Entertainment will be provided throughout the event and prizes will be raffled, making the race fun for the entire family.

The Answer to Cancer Foundation was founded in 2003 by Adrian Elkins, whose ten month struggle with terminal liver cancer inspired the 1st annual Answer to Cancer run in Oregon. With 250 race participants and earnings of more than $25,000 in A2C's first year, Adrian was determined to educate people about the risks surrounding hepatitis B and the importance of treatment and screening. Today, A2C is run by his brothers and sisters who participate in national speaking tours, promotional programs and spearhead the various national A2C events.

As many as 1 in 10 Asian Americans are carriers of hepatitis B, and most don't even know they're infected. Although hepatitis B is completely preventable through vaccination, lack of awareness has allowed it to become a silent killer. As a result, A2C's goal is to encourage people to get tested and vaccinated to stop the deadly spread of this virus. We invite you to join us in the fight against hepatitis B and liver cancer by joining or sponsoring this event.
