The 4th annual “B Part of the Answer” 5K is part of the Answer to Cancer family of fundraising races. Two other runs held in Portland, Oregon and San Francisco, CA are part of the A2C family of fundraisers. Since its inception, the Answer to Cancer Foundation has benefited organizations, associations and facilities that educate, treat, research and promote awareness for hepatitis B and liver cancer.

Funds raised from the “B Part of the Answer” 5K run/walk will benefit the Answer to Cancer Foundation and the Hepatitis B Foundation (www.hepb.org), which provides outreach, assistance and education for Hepatitis B patients and families.

Entertainment will be provided throughout the event and prizes will be raffled, making the race fun for the entire family.

The Answer to Cancer Foundation was founded in 2003 by Adrian Elkins, whose ten month struggle with terminal liver cancer inspired the 1st annual Answer to Cancer run in Oregon. With 250 race participants and earnings of more than $25,000 in A2C's first year, Adrian was determined to educate people about the risks surrounding hepatitis B and the importance of treatment and screening. Today, A2C is run by his brothers and sisters who participate in national speaking tours, promotional programs and spearhead the various national A2C events.

As many as 1 in 10 Asian Americans are carriers of hepatitis B, and most don't even know they're infected. Although hepatitis B is completely preventable through vaccination, lack of awareness has allowed it to become a silent killer. As a result, A2C's goal is to encourage people to get tested and vaccinated to stop the deadly spread of this virus. We invite you to join us in the fight against hepatitis B and liver cancer by joining or sponsoring this event.
