The Answer to Cancer Foundation was developed to educate people about liver cancer, and to promote research, treatment and awareness of Hepatitis B as it relates to liver cancer and associated illnesses. The Answer to Cancer Foundation raises awareness about the critical need for improved education about, screening for and immunization against the Hepatitis B and C viruses to ultimately prevent life-threatening effects of these diseases, specifically liver cancer. Answer to Cancer partners with organizations that share our strategic vision-commitment to education, research and treatment-with the hope of someday finding a cure.

According to the National Cancer Institute, Primary Liver Cancer (HCC) is the 4th most common cancer in the world. HCC accounts for 84% of all liver cancers. The cause of HCC is unknown but contributing factors include viral hepatitis (especially hepatitis B and hepatitis C), cirrhosis, hemochromatosis, and toxins (specifically aflatoxins) found in foods in parts of Africa and Asia.

Many patients with HCC do not develop symptoms until the advanced stages of the tumor.
